I picked up the Green Bay in Panama about 1969 or so. Destitute from a failed business adventure in Nicaragua. Had USCG Merchant Mariner’s papers and COTP found me an ship . (US Embassy said “no dice” to my plea for some $$ to get back to US.). Green Bay was carrying 500# bombs for B52’s in Guam. Off loaded there and made it back to TX somewhere. I had mucho $$ from the trip. I read in the papers later on that the Green Bay was sunk in Haiphong Harbor by Viet frogmen (or something).
