Protecting Australian Borders with CoTM

Australia’s maritime borders are huge, covering an area of almost 15 million square kilometres. It is critical that the ships of Australia’s Customs and Border Protection Service who patrol the Economic Exclusion Zone can communicate with Canberra and other agencies regularly. The challenge comes in supplying a corporate data connection to an office afloat in the Indian Ocean, Great Southern Ocean or anywhere around Australia.

The concept is called Communications on The Move (CoTM). Through these solutions, a moving object can be connected at high speed to a corporate network based anywhere in the world. This provides 2-way communication between air, land or sea vessel and head office, providing real-time, time critical communications.
