Dear Experts,
Company decided to use equipments/steel etc assigned to hull no “A” to “B” the ship is under construction & now, this will be called “B” but “A” will be delivered later.
what is the procedure for this kind of change? while the IMO number will remain SAME & everything else will be assigned to Hull “B” but Hull “A” is not abolished, it will be delivered after “A”

The classification society and USCG approve conceptual drawings, as-built, and so on. Not sure, but having an IMO number, the vessel must be far along in the process. May have to reapply for the second vessel to get a new Number from the Coast Guard that’s unique to the second hull. Check the Marine Exchange Website. You can look-up a hull just by the builder’s hull number. http://cgmix.uscg.mil/PSIX/PSIXSearch.aspx
