# Platform fire burning?

Not surprised…I worked down there on a vessel doing maintenance on a fixed production platform a while back and was simply appalled at the terrible condition the platform was allowed to deteriorate to. If the rust was so apparent from a distance, it must have been truly terrible from aboard!

I worked down there for 2 years and fires seemed to be a weekly thing. The only place I have seen worse was India

That explains why Pemex insisted that the Seacor Resolve and Rigorous install new moon pools and fire monitors before heading to the Bay of Campeche to go on contact there. I’ve heard stories of the water catching on fire under the Pemex platforms.
