OSG voted in MM&P today

If it’s who I think it is, I worked for him for a couple years. He went right over to MSC without skipping a beat. He sure was a legend👎.

Nah, he went to work for Reinauer after that as some sort of safety guy — heard he didn’t last long there either. Genuinely mentally unwell. Got fired off every ship he ever worked on and went so far as to enrage an APL captain to the point he punched the chart table and broke his own hand.

My concern is that they’re using legal arguments against the right for chief mates (and captains) to collectively bargain because they’re “supervisors.” Current precedent holds that captains and CMs don’t meet the specific definition of “supervisor” under the NLRA, but precedent means little these days. If the Board is staffed with anti-union members, as can be expected, there’s no reason they can’t reinterpret/misinterpret the law to say that no captains or chief mates anywhere are eligible to unionize, and those that are can be kicked from their labor organizations.

Captains are supervisors. Legally Chief mates considered not for unionizing now- they were considered supervisors in the past but aren’t now.

No captain voted in the election. Election was for cm/ 2m and 3m

You still think this is accurate?

Good ole Darrin M!!! I do believe that’s how MMP USEC VP got his first relief Capt job. He had to fly out to Singapore to relieve the limp wristed maniac.
