New to the Oil & Gas

Hello to everyone and thanks for this opportunity to let me reach out there for some answers. Your honest comments are truly appreciated.
So I am a 42 year old male with 21 years of working experience. My background is Industrial Electronics for which I have a diploma and I have climbed my way up from a support technician to a technical director in these years. I travelled a lot to pitch my knowledge on various equipment I worked on and remained hands on much of my time. I have lately decided to get into the Oil & Gas industry so I completed a Floorhand/Roustabout Course run by Lone Star College System -Houston Texas. I am now certified and holding RigPass, Safe Land, Safe Gulf , Well Cap Intro and WADI certification all accredited by IADC.
My questions are:
What is the current situation on recruitment in this industry?
With the current certification and knowledge am I bound to apply for a roustabout or should I apply for electronics/electrical technician post?
What are the chances in advancing in this industry as I hear that doors are all open?

Once again I thank you in advance and look forward to your valid feedback.

Kind Regards
Don
