Yeah it’s difficult to keep track of which country China is infringing on because there’s so many instances.
Whether it’s 12.001nm or 12,001 miles, it’s international waters so China can go fuck themselves.
Starting to think we need a name for Chinese apologists… The French had the Vichy, what’s Norwegian for Vichy?

Here’s a thought. Setting aside the Jones Act for just a moment and acknowledging the restricted availability of berths in US shipyards for newbuildings, how about if Congress at least considered modular warship fabrication in South Korea, monitored by a team of American technical advisors selected from relevant US industry and vetted by the Navy, followed by erection stateside? This could well relieve pressure on US drydocks and thus speed up fleet growth. An added benefit, addressing CNO’s concerns stated last year regarding routine maintenance and repair of existing vessels. The only downside I can foresee would be a likely degradation of the skilled workforce that is the backbone of US shipyards, not in the least a trivial matter.

I remember hearing the word before but had to look up its meaning. It’s oddly appropriate: the term arose because in World War II, Vidkun Quisling, a Norwegian politician, volunteered to help the occupying Nazis rule Norway for Germany.

Are you sure you are talking about the right country here?
Maybe you should check how many countries USA is and has “interfered” with, or meddled into local affaires and politics of?
To repeat; the Paracel conflict goes back a long time and involves China (PRC and ROC) and Vietnam (north and South) only. Japan made a a claim during WWII, but withdrew any claim in 1950. Nobody else has made any claim, or are involved in any conflict, in the Paracel Islands.

It does make a difference to those who are members of UNCLOS. The definition of territorial waters and EEZ is 12 and 200 n.miles respectively, Whatever other mile you refer to (US or Imperial) is of no relevance.

Quisling was tried in court after the war, found guilty of treason and shot, although death penalty had been abolished in Norway in 1905, but was brought back for war criminals after WWII.
27 people was sentenced to death and execute for their actions during the German occupation of Norway (9 April 1940 - 8. May 1945) The exceptional law was discontinued in 1950.
Even the terrorist murders in 2011 was not enough for Norway to bring back capital punishment:

The Philippine government in the last 20 year has to my knowledge not expressed any territorial interest in the Paracel Islands. Perhaps some folks are geographically confused.
Summary:
On July 12, 2016, the arbitral tribunal adjudicating the Philippines’ case against China in the South China Sea ruled overwhelmingly in favor of the Philippines, determining that major elements of China’s claim—including its nine-dash line, recent land reclamation activities, and other activities in Philippine waters—were unlawful. Predictably, China reacted negatively to the ruling, maintaining it was “null and void.” China may take assertive and inflammatory steps to defend its position. The extent to which China abides by the ruling in the long term, and to which the international community supports and seeks to enforce the ruling, will have consequences for the utility of international law as a tool to ensure the peaceful, stable, and lawful use of the seas going forward.
