Vessel operations and autonomous shipping account for more than one-third of the transactions tracked since 2017, spanning predictive maintenance, navigation software and remote-control systems. Supply chain and logistics technology is the second-largest segment. Cybersecurity and maritime safety are gaining rapidly as ships, ports and shore offices become more connected, while sustainability software continues to attract buyers facing tighter emissions rules and complex reporting requirements.

Consolidation will continue because the conditions behind it remain in place: too many point solutions, rising integration costs, growing demand for connected data and regulation that increasingly cuts across departments. The winners, however, will not necessarily be the companies that assemble the largest catalogues. They will be those that make the seams disappear.
