We had one on a harbor tug that I used to work on. She was very nice but totally worthless. Many times when I was running the boat and she was on deck, I would nose in to tie up at the dock, or throw the heaving lines to the ship, and she could not get the lines up/on. I would literally have to go out and do it for her. I heard she’s a captain now at the same company.
I’ve had 1 deckhand/mate trainee, 2 deckhands and 1 captain. Only the only one that ever impressed was the AB/mate trainee… She could work circles around any man onboard- jAce of all things on deck, and most things in the wheelhouse. The rest… I swear the company hired them to spite the rest of us. The female captain(using those TERMS loosely) was the worst ship mate/ senior officer/ HWIC I’ve ever had. The 2 o/s’s were just there. Had to motivate the hell out of them to get any work form either one.
Then again I’ve have probably 150 male ship mates and only 2 or 3 ever really impressed me/ made me a better mariner while working with them.
Only seen three of what I would call ladies in the gulf. First was a captains wife working on a crewboat. She did 90% of all the work we hated inside and in return we did all the line handling. Second was I believe a captains daughter On a Candy crewboat. She was actually very pretty, don’t know what came of her. And the third was the hottest. Diver on the Joe Thorton in the late 90s. Working the Bay Marchand field she used to hang out on deck in a red bikini top and daisy duke shorts. Used to jog around Fourchon to when her boat was in port. Always thought of running over my own line so I could spend time with her. LOL
Once upon a time (2009-2010) Reinauer tug STEPHEN SCOTT had a female mate by the name of Donna and and a Vane boat had a mate named Erica.
Her initials M.B.?if so she was definitely a hottie

The mate at Reinauer formerly at K-Sea was the one that sued for sexual harassment. I’m sure Bill McCrackin thinks of her daily!
Heard she’s trouble with the capital T.

The Sexual Harassment case was a woman name Kristin and she was in the office, never steered as I understood it. Donna, I believe is one of the Officers of RTBU
I’ve had some lady deckhands and if they worked hard they were fed well. Here’s a pic of the last three.

So I guess they did not work it hard enough to your liking. .
I’d be happy to relieve you of the burden. I’m sure I could find some activities befitting their unique skill set.

That was another case of sexual harassment with an office girl named Melissa. Here’s the link to it:
The mate over at Reinauer did file a sex. harassment suit. It got settled and I can’t find the link to it.
Kind of hard to harass Kristin after her rep. at tankerman meetings before she got married.
