Judaism and maritime

Yeah, should have said UK, of which Northern Ireland is a part.

I have sailed in the Navy and the MM with almost every religious faith you can think of including Mormons, Jews and Muslims. I have yet to meet one who refused to stand watch or perform a task because of the Sabbath, a holiday, or for some other reason. Most people, even fairly observant religious people, understand that work does not stop at sea and that there are tasks that need to be done. This can be seen as necessary and even life saving work. I don’t think it’s up to any of us to decide who is observant and who isn’t. Religious faith and spirituality is between that individual and their higher power.
