The Canadian Transportation Safety Board report states that the Bridge Operator in the 2001 Bulker Windoc incident was on drugs (Darvon) and had some wine that day also. Has anyone ever experienced difficulties passing through drawbridges? Any unpleasant drawbridge experiences to share?
Sorry, literally could not help myself.
I have had a bridge tender go home early because he though no one else was coming and leave me stranded on the wrong side of the bridge until the next day.
Also once had a bridge tender OD on heroin, some irate complaints to the CG got someone out to the bridge to see what was going on.
One more not-fun thing is when the bridge is broke and only half of it goes up. I feel like there is 3 inches to spare!
