Winter has come to NW Norway with a light dusting of snow, clear sky and down to -7C here in Ålesund last night:

It is not going to last though. Already on Sunday the forecast is +1C and cloudy. For next week it is predicted to be more normal temperatures for January (+2-4C) cloudy, with light breeze from SE.

Winter is bathing season in Norway:
The minus degrees are creeping down towards double digits in Eastern Norway this weekend. While people wrap themselves in increasingly thick down jackets, a group of women strip down on Kadettangen in Bærum, and end up wearing only swimwear, a hat, mittens and shoes.
One of them, Heidi Vaule, finds an axe and starts chopping away at the ice:

With all this talk about Greenland/Grønland, I’m taking the opportunity to remind everyone that Grønland is in fact in the centre of Oslo and I guarantee we can fight off unwanted troops with rotten lutefisk, extreme prices on beer and our traditional “we don’t talk to strangers” strategy! Failing that, we’ll bribe them all with cardamom waffles with brown cheese, our secret weapon of mass seduction!
