Know when to raise them, know when to down them, know when to say “SKÅÅÅL”:
Eagles so big & viscous they can possibly kill & eat a man.
From the article: "… he panicked he’d slip. But falling unconscious was his biggest fear because the eagle potentially “would start to eat me.”

Saw this on Norwegian TV News last night.
An unusual happening as stated by Ottar Folkestad, who is a recognized expert on birds of all kind, especially eagles.
Here is a picture of the eagle:
And a short video from one of the attacks reported

Dang. I didn’t understand anything he said in the beginning of that video but the follow up, 31 minute battle with the bird was scary. And instead of having baldness like myself & our eagles in the US, it had a head of long blond locks like so many Norwegians I’ve worked with. Too funny. I wonder if they checked it for a rabies mutation?
That’s some gangsta eagle behavior there. Maybe a born psychopathic eagle? In any case it’s something out of a horror movie

Another video of the eagle attacking a man has been posted:
Identifying plumage
All the attacks that have occurred have turned out to be from a so-called yearling, i.e. an eagle that was born in early spring this year, and that has recently left the nest.
According to Folkestad, the plumage of the yearlings is very characteristic, and makes it possible to identify them.
The marking details in white and the pattern in the plumage are so individual on the yearlings of the golden eagle that it is possible to recognize them by it, says Folkestad.
Folkstad has gone through the videos and photos from the various incidents, and believes he sees clear similarities in the birds that have been photographed.
Apart from the bird that was photographed from Holtålen. It didn’t really say anything other than that it was a yearling.

The young golden eagle was euthanized after a 1.5-year-old girl was attacked in Trøndelag on Saturday.
The ornithologist believes that he has found individual-recognizing or identifying details in the markings. He therefore concludes that it must be the same eagle
It is unusual for such young golden eagles to leave the area. Therefore, something must have happened, the ornithologist believes.
If the parents stop feeding the children, or if the parents die, it can result in a yearling starting to hunt, says Folkestad.
He says the golden eagle can glide far on the downwind, and that there were ideal conditions with high pressure, which enabled the eagle to fly 200 kilometers in a couple of hours:
- Here you have an individual for whom there has been trouble. That’s what it’s all about, comments Folkestad. -

Weather phenomena seldom seen in Norway:
Isabelle Thorsen, who lives in Switzerland, spent three days at the lighthouse. Wednesday was perhaps the most special when she filmed out to sea from Kråkenes lighthouse.
A beautiful rainbow appeared - and then a tornado came.
One sees the tornado or cloud pump as a powerful rotating column of air that descends from the thunder cloud. And one comes very close.

Unusually many whales of different species has been seen in the fjords around Sunnmøre lately.
This afternoon a large flock of white beaked dolphins were seen near the center of Ålesund:
Screen shot
In the afternoon hours on Friday, the lucky spectacle-seekers got to see a large herd traveling near the center of Ålesund.
Recently, there have been several observations of whale flocks on Sunnmøre. On Friday it happened again. Many people thought it was a pilot whales that appeared on Aspevågen.
Sunnmørsposten spoke to aquarist Trond Østrem at Atlanterhavsparken before he had seen the video. Then he told me that, most likely the whales are looking for ten-armed squid at the moment. - These are at the top of the menu for the whales, and now around the full moon the squid are swarming. In addition, there is also a lot of mackerel in the fjord, said Østrem.
After watching the video, he is quite sure that it is a type of dolphins that has been in Aspevågen.
Dolphin is a collective term for a number of species, but here I think it is most likely a matter of White beaked Dolphins, which belongs to the dolphin family. he says.
There is a lot of Pilot whales this year
Østrem also says that there is a lot of Pilot whales to be seen on our fjords this year.
The aquarist has the impression that there is more Pilot whales than in previous years, so it is perhaps not so surprising that many people thought it was.
It is not unusual for herds of several hundred whales, he concludes.

Hello, I would like to introduce myself. I am Rebecca Aygarn Talkie with my maiden name, Aygarn, being part of my Norwegian heritage. It is an Americanized version of the name of the family farm, Oygarden. The farm is located on the island of Karmoy, off the Norwegian coast. Before you get confused by the picture, the statue is a gift to the people of Karmoy from France. The copper used to manufacture the Statue of Liberty was mined many years ago in Karmoy and then shipped to France. The statue is a small version and stands near where the mines were located. My Norwegian cousin took my husband and I to see this:

Another Bluefin Tuna bite the dust. (Only 250 kg. this time):
It was quite a long battle to get this Bluefin Tuna out of the sea, but together with two others in the fishing team, André Wollan managed to pull the beast up on Friday. It is still felt in the muscles.
Photo: Private
We saw enormous amounts of Bluefin Tuna off Harøya, probably thousands. We ended up in the middle of a giant shoal. We had hired a sea bow, and had planned to be there all weekend, but after only ten minutes the fish bit the hook, says Wollan.
