I’m doing these 4-6 week OSV hitches in the GoM and I want data. I don’t have wifi on most boats and the rigs don’t have an AT&T tower. They do have some kind of tower though (full roaming signal). Some guys have luck with T-Mobile but they say they’re limited to 200mb a month. Google FI operates using all GSM towers with no overages or roaming fees as far as I understand so essentially whatever tower those rigs are using should work right? Has anyone tried this? Also this service sounds great for overseas

I would get Google Fi if I went overseas again.

AT&T (any GSM signal) was what worked in the Gulf. I had a deckhand that used straight talk phones underway because it counts numbers of text messages not cost per message, even in the platform repeaters.
