GI benefits for Mariners Ships for America Act

Read that mariners and shipyard workers will get GI education benefits. However I tried to read the bill and I’m a little confused on the lingo and how it will work for mariners. Is it the same set of rules that the military uses. I’m not too familiar with how GI education works.

My biggest question is if the Ships for America Act passes would I be able to transfer these GI education benefits to my spouse to use ???

*Note she’s not a mariner or in the maritime industry

That is utterly ridiculous.

Too many special benefit programs for too many special people.

It’s approaching the point where there is some special benefits program for almost everyone.

It costs more to “administer” some of these Government benefit programs than the amount of benefits people actually receive.

There are a lot of students, and huckster schools that figure out how to scam these programs.

These programs also contribute to the very high inflation of college tuition.

The idea that almost everyone has the “right” to go to college, and the Government must make it possible, also contributes to the very high rate of people that are not academically qualified getting useless degrees from “everybody passes” colleges.

Once someone has a college degree (however useless it maybe), they think they are too good to get their hands dirty doing any real work. This leads to a labor shortage.

People are already too dependent on Government. It’s long past time to bring back some self-reliance, and to slash Government benefit programs.
