# Foreign Articles

Quick question about US Foreign Articles.

A large percentage of the crew is currently overseas well past the expiration of articles unable to be properly relieved because of Covid-19. The crew is being asked to sign new articles. It has been stated that if you refuse to sign new articles you will be forced to leave the ship, but no disciplinary actions will be taken against you. I believe most people are willing to stay and work.

Is it legal to continue working past the expiration of articles without signing new articles?
