# Fatal safety boat accident Jamaica Bay

There was a fatal accident with the safety boat at the Marine Parkway Bridge on Tuesday.  
Details are scarce but from what I heard the boat struck something in the water and the captain was ejected.

I lost my deckhand in a similar accident at the Bayonne bridge six years ago.

WTF is going on? It’s kind of counterintuitive that the very people that are supposed to saving lives are getting killed.

Does anyone have any further details?
