ECO LaShip Job Fair Aug 25

Edison Chouest is planning to hire 250-500 workers at its LaShip shipyard in Houma, La., reports the Houma Courier, and will hold a job fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, August 25, at the Fletcher Technical Community College in Houma.
The newspaper says applicants need two to five years of shipyard experience and that Chouest is seeking pipefitters, ship fitters, electricians and carpenters.
ECO’s largest shipyard to date, LaShip in Houma, Louisiana, is an ultra-modern facility that will ultimately employ over 1,000 skilled workers. LaShip is equipped to accommodate a wide range of new construction projects, as well as repairs, conversions and refits. Construction is currently underway on several new well stimulation vessels at LaShip, along with a 360-foot Arctic ice class anchor handling tug supply vessel.
