Are any diesel fuel on the way to the US yet?🙂:

Pretty sad that we as a nation will be taking fuel from an aggressive totalitarian all to keep prices down. I’d much rather pay more at the pump or for goods and have less people die, but apparently our current administration values fuel prices over human lives. Where’s that Bible that Trump use to hold up?

If first ships are from the Baltic range , then POTUS needs to order all states in this NATO lake to stop harassment of charted ships hauling russian cargo as well as meddling with cables to create extra hype.

Can imagine the outrage of flag waving states there ,willing to upset and derail this plan.

I see two options to discourage them from doing sth stupid.

A) Russian navy escorts

B) guess what ???

US navy escorts. 😂 😂 😂

Can U imagine the faces of two biggest idiots in EU (sorry ladies)🙂

There is a scene in the movie ‘Grosse Point Blank’ where an assasin sells ammunition to another assasin while they’re shooting at each other.
It’s difficult to reconcile so many absurdities on all sides.

And worst of all, the Russians are buying the bombs from the Chinese, not US bomb maker. Where is the profit for US taxpayers in that?

Oh well, even if they bought the bombs from US manufacturers, the profit would go to speculators, especially those with access to inside information.🤨

PS: Would have been a lot less controversial, both strategic and political. Besides, no need to free up “shadow fleet” tankers to carry the diesel to markets in Europe and USA. (Via the Suez canal, not Bab al Mandab)

That’s soon to change as Netanyahu and Trump are getting ready to bomb Iran some more because, well elections are coming up in both countries. This will cause Iran to attack US allies in the region who will need to restock more US weapons.

> The first Russian diesel tanker under the new deal between Russia and the United States is now heading for New York with a 40,000-metric-ton cargo, enough to cover barely two hours of American demand....

> [@](#):
>
> ## **Who benefits**
>
> What stands out is the license design, which does far more for Moscow than for the Americans it was meant to help. Unlike earlier licenses, which lasted 30 days and covered only cargoes already at sea, GL 135 covers Russian diesel sold anywhere in the world until April 2027, giving Russian exporters six months to supply both existing and new buyers.
>
> After the signed waiver, the benefit to American consumers is yet to be seen, while Moscow’s revenue will be immediate.
>
> For American consumers, [the gains are limited](https://www.cnbc.com/2026/10/13/trump-putin-zelenskyy-russia-ukraine-diesel-oil-price.html): the promised volumes equal less than two weeks of U.S. demand. Moreover, the[Ending Importation of Russian Oil Act](https://www.clydeco.com/en/insights/2026/10/ofac-authorizes-us-imports-of-russian-diesel) of 2022 still bans Russian energy imports into the U.S. until Ukraine accepts the peace agreement, a condition that has not been met.
>
> Thus, the potential U.S. diesel importers who would rely on the license [risk](https://www.lawfaremedia.org/article/dissecting-trump-s-deal-for-russian-diesel) civil penalties up to the value of their cargo and the forfeiture of their ships, which a presidential pardon cannot cancel. With so much at stake, few importers are likely to take that risk, which may explain why Trump presents the deal as supply for “[the American and Global Marketplace](https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/117412435306815143).”
>
> The 2022 import ban applies only to the U.S., so the diesel will go to buyers in the global markets.
>
> There, the license lets traders, shippers and banks handle Russian diesel and take dollar payments without breaching U.S. sanctions, and the proceeds go to Russia’s oil companies.
>
> Meanwhile, Kyiv is under pressure from Washington, which reportedly [urged](https://axios.com/2026/10/10/trump-zelensky-putin-diesel-deal-war) Ukraine to stop striking [Russian refineries](https://kyivindependent.com/tag/oil-refineries/), the same facilities that now supply the diesel its license has brought back to market.
>
> ## **The cost to credibility**
>
> The wider cost is the loss of credibility of U.S. sanctions globally.
>
> Washington has pressured India and China to buy less Russian oil by adding an [extra 25% tariff on Indian goods](https://www.squirepattonboggs.com/insights/publications/sanctions-by-statute-the-graham-act-and-tariffs-on-russia-s-energy-buyers/), which was later withdrawn.
>
> The Graham Act was meant to fill that gap and write these secondary tariffs into a law. The waiver shows that U.S. sanctions are less a firm commitment and can shift after a phone call.
>
> The law may offer firmer ground than politics. Lawmakers argue the diesel license [conflicts](https://www.clydeco.com/en/insights/2026/10/ofac-authorizes-us-imports-of-russian-diesel) with the 2022 import ban, which could invite a legal challenge. Some have also[called for limits](https://www.steptoe.com/en/news-publications/international-compliance-blog/weekly-sanctions-update-october-19-2026.html) on the president’s waiver power. Whether Congress acts will show if it is willing to defend the sanctions it wrote.
>
> The question is whether this is a temporary detour or a new direction.
