Impressive handwork by a 19th century sailmaker.
I’d guess he had time for that?!
Warrant officers didn’t stand watch, but worked long days. Lots of time when running down sea with the stun’sls set.
Not nearly as fancy but here’s one that I did by hand myself a while back. It was actually a fun project. By professional sailmaker standards I moved at a glacial pace by spreading it out over a few days, but that’s what allowed me to enjoy the process.
Pretty work, sir. Meant in the finest sense. My skills were in splicing and sewn whippings, and nothing approaching your work. BZ.
Impressive work showing how the stress was spread out over several points and those were strongly reinforced.
