# Cracks found on FPSO

Cracks have been found in the hull of the FPSO Petrojarl Foinaven:

She has been on location west of Shetland since 1997 and her contract with Britoil (BP) has just been extended by 10 years:

_Petrojarl Foinaven_ has a somewhat interesting history. It was originally built as a ro-ro/flo-flo transport ship _Anadyr_ for the Soviet Navy by Wärtsilä. The conversion to FPSO included replacing the midship cargo section which, in turn, was later reused in the construction of the drillship _Pride of Africa_.
