Thats just HILARIOUS!! Hahaaa!!!
Pretty sure he is… One of bay runners post earlier states that c.captain is having problems posting and c.captain thanked it…
Mr. Gary has his own money that he choose to donate. If the guy wants to give Jindal another million, so be it, that’s his choice. The money he has is money he rightfully made on his own. And I bet Gary has A LOT more then just a spare million sitting around that he can do whatever he wants, because it’s HIS money.
He could have donated Nicky Collins to use as his spin-master
a Cajun scooter Libby or Karl rove! Careful, you may Create a monster.
Personnel guys would be better as the press secretary. Paid liars…
When people like Gary Chouest are prevented from donating money to their favorite candidate or causes, what makes you think that you, your union or other PAC won’t be limited then, too?

I wish campaigning didn’t cost anything and we could just ban all contributions.
I get that it is “Gary’s money”. Tru-dat it is his money but where did he get this money? I would guess that he got it from his company when times were good. Gary enjoyed the fruits of his and his employees labor. So did his employees. Fair enough. Now that times are tight, it seems that he is still enjoying those fruits but his employees are not. Even you Gary defenders must admit that this contribution has a certain odor about it…
I only opened this thread because I didn’t have Internet and couldn’t check my bank account. I was thinking maybe he donated it to me but I guess not…

Masshole, exactly whom on this forum do you think you are educating about how much money Gary has sitting around or how he got it? You are missing the point and the boat.
As I’ve stated before my personal assets and the company’s money are not one and the same. The company couldn’t afford the 401k match, that has nothing to do with my personal checking account.
And yet, once again, the oil patch shows us (better than any other sector, by far) that money and morals are mutually exclusive.

You say that like it’s a bad thing.

Sounds like a fair trade to me … bribery is bribery, it isn’t defined by who does it or why. Personally, I think it would be wonderful if Gary and a few union bosses and lobbyists shared a cell for a few years.
“Thanks to the findings of the US Supreme Court in ‘Citizens United’, EACH of the dollars that these enterprises represents has as much right to free speech as expressed in election financing as YOU do”.
That was the decision that said Corporations have the same rights as individual people. That suit was brought to the Supreme Court by Citizens United, an organization created by Floyd Brown in 1988, a longtime Washington political consultant, with major funding from the Koch Brothers who own “the second largest privately owned company in the United States”.
In my own opinion, that Supreme Court Decision created the single-most corrupting influence on the U.S. Congress in the history of the republic. On the day the good State of Texas executes a corporation for high crimes is the day I will agree that corporations have the same “Rights” as American Citizens.

So a lot of people are thinking that Jindal has no shot at the POTUS. But he will be in line for a cabinet position, which is always nice to have a friend in the WH. MR Chouest is just playing the game. It sucks that the influence game that goes on in Washington has become so brazen and so easy to see.

Give them credit for one thing, they are up front about it and the culture does admire amoral behavior. There are some parts of the country where people who buy their way to top of the food chain, treat people as human capital not human beings, take money from those with less power than them are not referred to reverently as MR. so and so. They end up with more colorful labels.

Such is the norm in a plutocracy. Shame has not been in the DC vocabulary for a very long time.
