Well I left my old employer thursday, after finishing out my 2 week notice. They were as professional as I, and I am glad to know I did not burn that bridge, never know when I might have to walk back across it. I worked with some of the best crew in the gulf.
I left a top tier OSV company working on their newest large OSV(6000) for a subsea construction type company. The pay and benifits I will now be receiving are vastly superior.
I guess there is a hierarchy in the oil patch.
Crew boats< towing boats<supply boats< construction boats< drill ships/rigs
I wonder if some of the disparity is because the crew/towing/supply companies generally have their roots in the bayou and the construction/drilling companies are for the most part are large corporations, used to dealing with issues on an international level.
I am not knocking anyone, just expressing my observations, and maybe rambling a bit.
Does anyone else see things as I do or am I way off base?

did you just get off your particular vessel on the 3rd of the month and is your new co now SD?

Ah, I thought you were going to a drilling contractor. Your new vessel is a beauty and good move on your part. You obviously already know Capt.B.J. there. Everything I every hear about HGM makes me wonder why on earth good people stay there?
capt. B.J. is a freind who clued me in to the job. What you hear about HGIM is true, and the good people are finally getting fed up.

I’d love nothing better than to piss right on Shane Guidry’s shoes! When will the mariners wake up to the BS the OMSA companies foist on the men who keep those same companies in business?
Me thinks you just did!
that certainly will be true if enough disgruntled HGM mariners read that!
