I am upgrading from 1600 ton N.C. mate to 200 master , I was approved to test but they are telling me I need to take another 5 module exam at the REC…I know a 200 mate to 200 master upgrade is sea service only so it doesn’t seem right that I need to test again when a 200 mate is only sea service…I’ve submitted a request for reconsideration but if anyone has any advice I’d really appreciate it…

If you are going to sit for a masters license and you need to take five modules sit for the 1600 ton master. You’ll thank yourself later.
