S/S BADGER…she’s a real beauty and it was a blast riding across the Lake on her.

Thanks, Capnfab.

There was concern that the Badger would be shut down after the 2012 season because she needs to discharge coal ash into the lake. But looking at her website, they will be taking reservations again for the 2013 season starting in February. Glad to see that! Their VGP expired in Dec. 2012.

Looks like their long term plans are to convert to natural gas, but it will take time.

Really enjoyed the lake pics!!

That she is. I will look through my hard drive when I get back to school. I think I have a bunch of photos of the steam plant and the bridge. We took a field trip across the Lake and back last year. Very cool looking into the coal fired boilers, and watching the Captain drop the port anchor and swing her around and then back her into the slip from the aft pilothouse was very neat!

I totally forgot I made these over the past couple of years. I know nothing of video editing so watch your ears. Enjoy.

Carlsbad Class Tanker SS Blue Ridge a few days before we sold her for scrap. I figured I should grab a quick video of the inner workings before we started shaving with her.

The quality is a little low due to the lighting conditions and cheap camera I had.

At sea bound for Port Everglades. Man I miss the smooth decks of the old tankers. This framing on deck stuff makes it so hard to get stuff around.

Nicely done, highseasmechanic, I enjoyed the video and all the photos. I feel all members of the forum will be pleased with your post. I certainly am.

Thanks, S-n-G. I try to capture a different view of our industry that most people do not sea, down below in the engine room. I can show people exactly where we work and what we do.

My <Thanks> button is drunk, again. Thanks, highseasmechanic.

Perhaps my <Thanks> button is much like his Daddy.

My thanks as well! That was a great video for a top side guy like me!

SS Antares getting new maneuvering panels. MarAd is spending a fuckton of money on these ships.

Now how do I get the photos to show up in the thread? Seems to be a crapshoot; but I’m sure it’s operator error on my part. Ah wait…I think I need to use a photo uploader vice my desktop.
