Fraq old buddy.

You crack me up.

Yes that would probably be a good thing. Nobody voicing an opinion different to the majority, or contesting stereotypes and “alternative facts”. 'MURICA.

It appears that a well regarded American publication carries articles by foreigners that is very positive to the latest development in US politics: http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/01/america-you-look-like-an-arab-country-right-now-214678

PS> Ooops, I just noticed that the article was contributed by an American satirical writer.

PS, it’s 60F at my house in coastal Alabama and it’s January…Enjoy your shitty Norwegian weather!

This is a common misperception. Yes Norway is cold relative to coastal Alabama most of the time, but not as cold as most people perceive. (Norway = Cold/Plenty fish)

Along the west coast it is rarely below freezing in the winter and snow is limited to higher elevation most of the time due to the Golfstream. In fact these days you have to get far north, or above 500 m. elevation, to find coastal snow for more than a few days in the winter.

Have a look at this video shot along Storfjorden(at 62.5N)tonight: Ørskog bada i solnedgang tar av på Facebook - smp.no

Do you have scenery like this in coastal Alabama??

Yeah that’s nice and all but the scenery at the Flora Bama is not bad either.

Book a flight now there is stil time to make it for Memorial Day weekend festivities.

Yes looks nice, but how many of those girls are liable to be deported before Memorial Day??

As to travelling to the US; I don’t know if that would be a good idea. Would it be possible to get there? Nationals of all places that have experienced terrorism may be banned by then. (Remember, Norway had an anti-muslim/neo-nazi terrorist attack in 2011?)

Even more to the point; will it be possible to LEAVE again? All flights to Europe may be full of American refugees that don’t get accepted in Canada and Mexico. Or Europe may close their borders to all travellers from America, just in case there should be any dangerous Christian fanatics among them. You never know, even a 5 year old kid, (or an old geezer like me) may turn out to a threat to European security.
No, we better stay on our respective sides of the pond.

Too bad for Norwegian Air Shuttle,. They just ordered a lot of Boeing plans in anticipation of a booming Trans-Atlantic market: http://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/flights/todayinthesky/2016/12/05/norwegian-air-plans-us-expansion/94986022/
They may have to cancel those orders, but that is just an unfortunate fallout from the policy to keep America (and Europe) safe from religious and political fanatics, whichever is worse.

PS> Spring is the best time to visit Norway, when the snow still cover the mountains, the water in the fjords coloured by the melt water, the grass is green in the fields and the fruite trees are blossoming:

Better make it before the Cruise ship season starts and the fjords fill up:

Or there is a travel ban to keep you safe and at home.

Yeah like I said that’s real nice but y’all don’t have the mullet toss.

That is true, but in Australia they beat that: http://www.tunarama.net/article-heading/
Of cause travelling to Australia may not be a good idea for Americans these days.

That isn’t in Norway and they my as well call that sausage fest. There isn’t enough “scenery” at that event.

Spring in Norway might he nice …
If you kan avoid møøse bites … they kan be nastį

We also have some games that is special. Here is a ski jumper in a double flipp:

This was taken during the Boat Festival in Aalesund a few years ago.

PS> As you may know Norwegians are born with skis on the feet.

Yeah, big deal. I’ll bet you don’t have indoor monster truck rallies.

No, no indoor Monster truck ralliesin Norway, but apparently there are some outdoor events: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FK5Zr8bOo2g
OK, OK, this NOTHING compared to what the US has to offer in the Monster Truck “sport”, thanks heaven.
there are some outdoor events: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FK5Zr8bOo2g
Dude, that’s so weak. By the time our kids are 3 years old they can run circles around these norveegan geeks.

Don’t like monster trucks? This one’s less of a sport and more of a ballet, might be more to your taste. Direct from Taylor, Texas, USA:

Today the warmest temperature in Norway was measured in Longyearbyen on Svalbard: http://norwaytoday.info/news/svalbard-warmest-country/
Tomorrow’s forecast is for the temperature in Longyearbyen still to be well above freezing, with the North Cape and even Kirkenes to be the same. In the south and east of Norway it is going to be cold.

Even the west coast will be experiencing a few days of below 0C temperatures, but clear and sunny weather with offshore light breeze and calm seas. No snow in the forecast for the next 5 days.

No, it is not “fake news”.

Good handling of heavy machinery. Impressive!!

In West Papua I watch Indonesians moving a barge using two excavators as paddles. Impressive coordination and handling technique. Also impressive.

Norway beats the world again, This time for the lowest road fatality statistics: http://norwaytoday.info/news/norway-lowest-traffic-fatalities-world/
Actually that is not ENTIRELY true, Maldives has an even lower fatality rate, but they don’t have a lot of cars, or roads.

There are no accidents because there’s no traffic because nobody can afford to buy gas at 6 or 7 bucks a gallon even though y’all drive teensy weensie itty bitty wittle cars. I wouldn’t brag about it.

What has cost of Gasoline got do do with it when more and more Norwegians drive electric cars charged by hydro-electric power?: http://www.cnbc.com/2016/05/24/this-country-has-hit-a-major-milestone-for-electric-cars-heres-how.html

The priveleges may have as much to do with it as the environmental aspects: https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2017/feb/07/power-to-the-ev-norway-spearheads-europes-electric-vehicle-surge

As for whether Norwegians can afford to own and operate cars, gasoline, diesel, bio-fueled or electric driven?
Yes they can, being among the highest disposable income earners (after tax) in the world: http://www.nationmaster.com/country-info/stats/Cost-of-living/Average-monthly-disposable-salary/After-tax

If traffic jam is a sign of riches the US is indeed the richest country in the world. Who else can afford to waste $124Bn/yr. on this problem and don’t try to do anything about it?: http://www.forbes.com/sites/federicoguerrini/2014/10/14/traffic-congestion-costs-americans-124-billion-a-year-report-says/#3a3731d16252

My second home, Singapore, maybe more than most, by high tariffs on cars, high cost of fuel and investment in public transport. Here is the Singapore solution: http://sbr.com.sg/economy/commentary/singapore-reveals-3-economic-solutions-traffic-congestion-asian-peers
