I deduce that Mr. Oliveoil is affiliated with the insurance sector of our fine industry. IF? I correctly ascertained this: I would like to add that the insurance companies are a tad bit more a thorn in my side than the pilot association.
Until he tells, to me… he shall remain an insurance writing - screwing the common man for anything he can slip by in his “small print” borderline ethical, semi-legal bullshit
There is nothing HUMBLE on how these arrogant people operate… for it is refered to as “PILOTITIS”…a humble thinking that they are untouchable and walk on water…and can get away with anything they want to because of political clout and income level. But when insurance companies get involved - things will change…for they can not be bought…and they give a hell of a lot more to Senators and Congress than the idiots at large here do. You will see change…behind closed doors at a MINIMUM…but it is at this time unavoidable.
Are you insinuating that we on gCaptain are the “idiots at large”?
In my last post I stated that I was not picking a fight but I could quickly change my tune and I don’t think your “copy and paste” technique would serve you well…
misunderstanding Sir…no we are not the idiots at large…just some may be a little more in-tune to the poitics of this. But your catching up :)…

WOW, it looks like I have an agenda
Its Mrs. Oliveoil to you sir…someone who shorted AGI from the top…taking full advantage of “insurance fraud” aloud to go on in the US of A.
misunderstanding Sir…no we are not the idiots at large…just some may be a little more in-tune to the poitics of this. But your catching up :)…
sorry…“politics” mispelled.
Granted things are obviously going to change but there was a lot more oil spilt on the Mississippi river not long after the Cosco Busan incident. Dont hear much about that incident. Is it because it happened in LA? Did that pilot face any charges? Equity?
So what does this mean? “someone who shorted AGI from the top” Are you affiliated with the insurance side of this?
Your condescending comments about my catching up would carry an iota of validity if you explained your position or background. Right now you are just another mouth regurgitating pdf files on the web.
You certainly do seem to have a burr under your saddle over this, whY?
Thanks for your question… it’s not a "burr’…it’s a reality of the BS.
Thanks for the reply. First, their testimony for one:( see above) for the first time in NTSB Investigative panel history - someone actually asks about “political process and contributions”…" How much - more or less than the other guy", as if that subject has ANY bearing on the investigation. Second, just look over their testimony…ie their answer to panel…THEN compare what was released via FOIA in the Professional Mariner as mentioned earlier.
You sound like a conscientious Mariner…clearly anyone who goes to sea and is subject to the Federal Laws in regard to Federally Mandated Drug Testing Compliance ( which by the way the majority of us are all for) would get a little ( just a little) pissed off over both the arrogance and “ignorance of the law” claim when it comes to this subject matter.
If we can not be ensured the USCG will be keeping them on even keel…you can bet the P&I Insurance and US Insurance companies can…and will. Especially NOW. What is is the works is as follows: Insurance Companies can ask for all associations DAPI AUDIT. This annual and required document is a Federally mandated Drug Testing Compliance Audit…done exclusively by the USCG ( which is what the P.M. article is referring to). If you were an Insurer of their pilot boats…and discovered come time to renew their policy…and it was discovered that they failed their Dapi…“would you insure” ? Absolutely not !
Here is one for you…how many “Associations” within the entire US pilotage system have a clean Dapi? This is being looked at my friend. Better yet - how would you like to be be the insurer who just got “had” with the P.M. release. <!-- / message -->

Sorry …seem to of got ya all worked up…thought “we” were on the same page.
As Professional Mariners. What is this “You show me yours - I’ll show you mine” credential stuff and things? No - I don’t work for insurance company. Let’s just say when off the ship I do a lot of research within my industry. How about you sir?
Please do not take offense here…thought that we can place our views…and if someone has some first hand info…why not? Again - please accept my apology if your indeed pissed off.

to answer your question…
“someone who shorted agi from the top” means i shorted this stock months ago…as opposed to going long. Wish i did not buy it back…turns out it was way to early. But made the right move and call.
Writing the shit out of the bull/bear butterfly call option spreads as of thursday.
Hows your portfolio doing? Shorting anything on the market? It’s getting tougher to call lately.
Mrs. Oil…let me say that as a semi-pro ranter in this forum, that I am impressed with the passion you display towards this matter. You shine a bright light on a major issue in today’s maritime industry which has escaped public scrutiny for too many years.
I could write an essay or two on what I think of most pilotage associations in the US but I can see that what I would write would have already been said here. I do wish to say though that I am in 100% agreement that the time has come for each and every pilots association in the US to become truly transparent and end the days to the secret society mindset which has created John Cota and many others like him.
All private pilotage associations with their inherent exclusive right to exist as competition free monopolies need to be terminated and their functions turned over to public entities as per the model of the Los Angeles Harbor Pilots.
