GENTLE LADY was built in 1998 of fiberglass, 18.92 meters (62 feet) long, and 124.95 GT (that would be about 40 GRT US) So, she would have had a Safe Manning Document, all the crew would have certificates for STCW – MED A1 (Marine Emergency Duties) (we call it BST in the US). The Master would have to hold a CoC as Fishing Master, Third Class (unlimited tonnage, out to 200 miles). The Mate would have had a license too. A similar size boat in the US does not require any STCW training or licenses.
