A breakthrough by the Japanese Engineers

A major breakthrough is done by Japanese engineers. They have made cargo tanks of a chemical tanker using a previously untried combination of stainless steel. They call it dual steel technology, a combination of Duplex stainless steel and stainless clad steel. Inside the tanks, Engineers used lighter duplex steel for the bulkheads. On the other hand, they used stainless clad steel for the bulkheads adjacent to the cargo tanks.
